Drop-off, a hug, a hello, and a soft start with quiet toys and books.
We're a small, licensed Christian preschool tucked into a real home — with letters, numbers, story time, family meals, and a backyard built for little adventures. Ages 1 through 5.
Come visit us →We know how hard it is to find the right place for your little one. You've probably already toured a few — the bright lights, the strangers behind the counter, the feeling that your child is going to be just one of many.
We started Ms. Rena's Preschool because we believe the early years matter more than anyone tells you. Your child deserves a place where someone knows them — their favorite color, the way they say "hippo," the snack that makes a hard morning easier.
So this is what we built: a small, licensed Christian preschool in our own home in Escondido — only twelve little ones at a time, with Ms. Rena and a helper always together so every child is truly seen. Real learning every day: letters, numbers, sight words. Real love every day: meals around our table, prayers before lunch, story time on our story carpet. And every single afternoon in our big backyard with the new concrete bike path the kids could ride for hours if we let them.
If that sounds like the kind of place you've been searching for — come see us. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just a quiet little visit so you can feel the home for yourself.
Most home daycares supervise. Most preschools feel like a tiny version of elementary school. We sit happily right in the middle — real learning, real warmth, real home.
Letters, numbers, colors, shapes, sight words — woven into songs, games, and crafts. Most of our kids head into kindergarten knowing more than the teacher expects.
Bible stories at story time, grace before meals, values like kindness and gratitude. Inclusive and gentle — we serve families of many backgrounds.
Jungle gym, sandbox, and our brand-new concrete bike path the kids ride around and around (and around). Outdoor time every day — sun on their cheeks, wind in their hair.
Spotless. Cozy. Safe. The kind of place where little ones nap soundly and parents feel at peace walking out the door.
We cap our preschool at just twelve children, and Ms. Rena always has a helper alongside her — so every child is truly known, watched over carefully, and loved a little more than they expected.
Consistent weekday rhythm, flexible drop-off and pickup, and the steady, dependable care a working parent actually needs.
The kind of photos that tell you everything words can't.
a little glimpse — come see the rest in person ♥
Predictable enough to feel safe, gentle enough to feel like home.
Drop-off, a hug, a hello, and a soft start with quiet toys and books.
Letter of the day, number of the day, a song or two, and a little Bible story — all gathered together on our cozy story carpet.
Hands-on activities that match what we're learning — and a lot of laughing.
Healthy food, family-style, with grace before we eat and good conversation while we do.
Naps for the little ones, quiet activities for the bigger ones, and a soft house in between.
The jungle gym, the sandbox, and laps around our new concrete bike path until little legs are happily tired. Wide open sky and sun on their cheeks.
A craft to take home, a hug for the road, and a short note about your child's day.
"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."— Proverbs 22:6
Our daughter started at 2 not knowing any letters. She left for kindergarten reading sight words — and crying because she didn't want to leave Ms. Rena's Preschool.
I never thought I'd find a place that felt like family. Our son lights up when we pull up to the house. That's all I needed to know.
The faith part is gentle, the learning part is real, and the love is everywhere. We've recommended Ms. Rena's Preschool to every mom we know.
